A handbag from a great house is an object of remarkable craftsmanship — and authenticating it demands the same care. We do not rely on a single tell or a quick glance. Each piece is assessed across dozens of points, by people who handle these brands every day.
And because certainty deserves a second opinion, authentication at M’llice happens twice: first in hand with our own specialists, then with an independent third-party authentication service — before a piece is ever offered for sale.
If we cannot stand behind a piece without reservation, it does not enter the collection. It is that simple.

Every piece is examined in hand by a specialist familiar with the brand — never by algorithm alone.

Stitching, symmetry, weight, zippers and engraved hardware are checked against known references for the model and era.

Leather grain, lining, date codes, blind stamps and serials are verified for consistency and authenticity.

Documentation
Our findings are recorded, and provenance — receipts, cards and prior history — is documented alongside the piece.
Independently verified
In-house expertise is only the beginning. Before any piece is offered, it is submitted to an independent third-party authentication service — a second set of specialist eyes, with no stake in the outcome, adding a further layer of verification.
Only when both examinations agree does a piece earn its place in the collection. Two verdicts, one standard: beyond question.
